Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for coming to us with your health concerns.

Exactly what is the diagnosis regarding your thyroid gland? Is it a benign mass? Do you have a hyperactive or a hypoactive thyroid gland?

A bleeding nipple should be evaluated by your health care provider immediately.

Blood coming from the nipple can be symptomatic of a benign (noncancerous) breast disorder. These disorders include breast tissue infection, called mastitis, and intraductal papilloma. The latter is a small growth in the breast tubes that move milk to the nipple. These tubes are called ducts.

Bloody nipple discharge can also be an early sign of breast cancer. These cancers include intraductal carcinoma and lobular carcinoma. Intraductal carcinoma, also called intraductal carcinoma in situ, begins in the ducts. Lobular carcinoma starts in the lobules, or the parts of the breast that produce milk. A rare type of breast cancer, Paget’s disease of the breast, begins with inflammation and skin changes on the nipple that may result in bleeding.

Anonymous, a lack of or change in taste can be due to anything that interferes with the normal taste process. Taste and the flavors you perceive are the result of a combination of the sense of smell and sensory neurons in your taste buds, which tell the brain what substances you taste.

Common conditions that can impair your sense of taste include a stuffy nose due to allergies or the common cold, a sinus infection, and certain medications.

Fatigue is associated with a hypoactive thyroid gland, called hypothyroidism.

Anonymous, I can only offer general information. I urge you to speak with your primary car4 physician today.

Regards,
Maryann
