In order to understand the underlying issue there are things you need to consider. For example, have you had any injuries to the face/jaw area in the past? Does it effect your hearing? Have you had ear infections recently? How long has it been going on? Is there any pain involved and in what location?
All these things play a part. It could be a structural issue, such as your jaw being out of place. Or is could be something more serious such as TMD (temporomandibular Joint Disorder). Discussing your symptoms with a dentist. Depending on what they find he may send you to a regular doctor to do more testing. But the dentist is a good place to start.
