There are a few factors happening here. First of all, taking EC more then 24 hours after having sex decreases the effectiveness.
However, a natural side effect of taking EC is a disrupted period. This applies not matter when you take it in relation to having sex.
The best thing to do at this point is wait. If you period does not come next month then you can take a pregnancy test to rule out that possibility.
