Hello and thank you for using EmpowHer,
There are different kinds of procedures done for tubal ligations. Sometimes the tubes are cut and burned as you said. There sometimes the tubes are damaged to create scar tissue that blocks the tubes. In either case, the tubes would need to grow back or create some passage for the egg to travel through.
The only way of knowing whether or not you are able to conceive after such as surgery is if you have your fallopian tubes examined with an ultrasound or something of that nature to see if they have indeed re-grown.
The do however, risk having an ectopic pregnancy after a tubal ligation. Birth control can potentially prevent an ectopic pregnancy. But you need to ask your doctor of taking birth control is right for you.
