The most common and normal side effect of emergency contraception is bleeding a few days later. This is not your regular period. Due to the hormones in the pill your period will be irregular. This does not mean your are pregnant.
Your period will return to normal after a few cycles. If you do still want to take a pregnancy test, you need to wait until after your next missed period in order for it to be accurate.
