Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us for information regarding a homeopathic approach to treating lupus nephritis.

For the benefit of all our readers, lupus nephritis is kidney inflammation caused by systemic lupus erythematosus, also referred to as SLE or lupus.

SLE is an autoimmune disease, which is a disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks the body’s own cells and organs. Up to 60 percent of people with SLE are diagnosed with lupus nephritis, which can lead to significant illness and even death.

In many cases, treatment is effective in completely or partially controlling lupus nephritis, resulting in few, if any, further complications. However, even with treatment, 10 to 30 percent of people with lupus nephritis develop kidney failure.

A normal result is 0.7 to 1.3 mg/dL for men and 0.6 to 1.1 mg/dL for women.

Anonymous, your creatinine level of 3 is extremely high. Once creatinine levels become high, kidney failure risk increases quickly.

I would urge you not to stop conventional treatment at this time. You could end up with kidney failure, if this has not already occurred. You would be looking at dialysis or need of a kidney transplant.

Lupus nephritis is treated with medications that suppress the immune system, so it stops attacking and damaging the kidneys. Standard treatment includes a corticosteroid, usually prednisone, to reduce inflammation in the kidneys. An immunosuppressive medication, such as cyclophosphamide or mycophenolate mofetil, is typically used with prednisone.

People with lupus nephritis that is causing high blood pressure may need to take medications that lower their blood pressure and can also significantly slow the progression of kidney disease.

Anonymous, ultimately it is your decision whether to stay the course or seek homeopathic options. You would need to consult a qualified homeopathic practitioner. The selection of a homeopathic remedy is based upon the theory of individualization and symptoms similarity by using holistic approach.

Regards,
Maryann
