Guide (reply to Unknown-108)

Hello Unknown-108,

I really wish you had not taken Plan B.

Emergency contraceptives ar4e very strong pills. They contain a high dose of a synthetic hormone that prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation. They can also cause changes in the cervical mucus and lining of the uterus. ECP can upset the normal balance of hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle.

Even if your partner thinks he might not have washed his hands, as I said in my first reply, sperm can live outside the body for about 20 minutes.

Wiping the semen off with a tissue and not engaging in fingering until a few hours later eliminated any risk for sperm from entering your vagina.

Unknown-108, do not be surprised if your next menstrual period starts earlier or later than expected. Flow might be lighter or heavier than normal. These are two possible side effects of Plan B.

Regards,
Maryann
