Vaginal bleeding can happen as a side effect of taking emergency contraception. It also happens between periods, not at the same time your period is expected. Often a fowl odor of the vagina is often related to infection. It can also be accompanied by itching or burning sensation.
If you continue to have irregular symptoms, I suggest you see a gynecologist.
For now however, it is safe to say it is your regular period.
