It is not true that a woman will have vaginal bleeding exactly one week after taking an emergency contraceptive. If she has no vaginal bleeding, either spotting or her period, within three weeks of taking the pill, then she must test for pregnancy.
A woman ovulates once a month. An emergency contraceptive prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation and prevents ovulation for only the one month in which it is taken.
One side effect of the pill is a change in the menstrual cycle. Some women will start their next period earlier or later than expected. Menstrual flow might be lighter or heavier than normal.
Anonymous, do not be worried if your period does not start tomorrow. But, again if nothing in the next two weeks, do test.
