Guide

Hello Thegirlwhogaveherall,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us for guidance. First, I need to ask you a few questions.

How old are you/ What happened during boot camp that you think precipitated the hip pain?
Is the pain in both hips? Does any thing relieve the pain?

What did the two physician tell you might be the cause? Was any therapy suggested? Have you tried any therapy or treatment?

I will gladly provide you with general information.

Hip pain is a common complaint that can be caused by a wide variety of problems. The precise location of your hip pain can provide valuable clues about the underlying cause.

Problems within the hip joint itself tend to result in pain on the inside of your hip or your groin. Hip pain on the outside of your hip, upper thigh or outer buttock is usually caused by problems with muscles, ligaments, tendons and other soft tissues that surround your hip joint.

Arthritis is one cause of hip pain and includes osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and septic arthritis. That is why I asked your age.

Injuries including dislocation, bursitis, hip fracture or hip labral tear, inguinal hernia, and tendonitis are causes of hip pain. That is why I asked what happened at boot camp.

A pinched nerve associated with meralgia paresthetica, sacroiliitis, and sciatica are other causes.

Regards,
Maryann
