The things you have tried usually do help bring some relief. In cases where menstrual cramps are severe and nothing has helped, I suggest a visit to your doctor. He or she can prescribe Ibuprofen (a higher dose than is available over the counter) or other prescription pain relievers. Also, oral contraceptives (typically, women taking birth control pills have less menstrual pain).
