Birth control pills prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. By taking a daily active pill, your hormone levels are kept at a constant level to achieve this. Once you stop taking the pills completely, you will eventually start ovulating again.
Then, there is a chance of becoming pregnant by having unprotected sex.
Some women can ovulate the next month, while for others it may take longer.
You were not at risk by having sex while still taking the pills.
