Being a day early isn't significant, nor is a shorter period than normal - four days is certainly a full period. These things can happen out of the blue, due to hormonal changes or a simple change in body chemistry. The menstrual cycle will not be the same from the teen years to menopause. At some stage, changes will happen, as the body evolves with age.
We cannot say what is causing your symptoms but if you are concerned about pregnancy, take a test to rule it out. See your doctor if you don't feel better soon.
