Like Alison mentioned, wearing socks at night can really help. I'll put on a very liberal amount of lotion on my feet and then some thick cotton socks just before I get into bed. In the morning, my heels are as smooth as a baby's bum.
(I did have just one issue as a result, though.... one morning I slipped as I was stepping into my shower because my feet were so lubed up. Fortunately I ended up with just a little bruise, but now I'm extra careful about that....)
