Q:

Am I pregnant

Hello. Though I am a virgin (and 18 years old) I don't have much knowledge about stuff so I have to ask this question even though it's super dumb.
A couple months back I had an itch down there, so to sooth it I'd clean it with baby wipes. Not ideal, but it worked. Also, them rather than the intimate wipes cause I prefer them better.
One time I bought cheap ones and they were scented and that burned a bit.
Since then, I traveled once and that had my period two weeks late. Then I had it regularely.

Now I traveled again but it wasn't significantly late. Just a couple days. Still on it, by the way.
I also have to say that I definitely gained some weight these past months and now have a belly kinda.
I also have bigger nipples now (weirdly??) and more pimples down my jawline and some under my chin area.
Again, I don't have much knowledge but I do know that even if you are pregnant you can still get your period.
My question is, could the cheap wipes had something that has gotten me pregnant?
I know this is stupid but I am so worried and I have nobody to talk to. I grew up Christian and talking about such things is not common or excepted.
Please help me.
Thanks,
Melodie.

Hello Melodie,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad you reached out to our community with your questions. Never feel that any question is dumb. You only learn by asking.

Using the cheaper brand of baby wipes may have caused an irritation.

Traveling, especially through different time zones, and an increase in weight can cause your period to start later.

You become pregnant when you have unprotected vaginal intercourse. A woman is fertile five days before ovulation and on the day of ovulation. Ovulation happens in the middle of the menstrual cycle. You count the first day of your period as day one. A monthly menstrual cycle starts with the first day of your period and ends with the first day of the following period.
