We had sex 3 days before I was supposed to hit my high fertility point...which is over a week before it said I was supposed to ovulate. Is it possible I am pregnant? My "visitor" is only 3 days late and I'm feeling nauseous when I wake up but I have also been under some stress recently and was sick a week and a half ago. I'm just wondering if it is possible that I ovulated early and I'm pregnant or is the stress and being sick recently causing me to be late and feeling sick?

Hi DrivenCrazyStepMom,
So glad to hear that helped! Yes, a combination of stress and sickness can affect your menstrual cycle and delay it.
Please let me know if you have any other questions, happy to help! :)

Thank you so much for answering it helped a lot. I have been under stress around the time I was supposed to get my period and I have been sick and finishing getting over it in the last 2-3 weeks. I have had the symptoms of my period without having it. And I'm not on any birth control and it was unprotected that's why I had to ask. This really helped so thank you so much.

Hi DrivenCrazyStepMom,
Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community! Have you had late periods in the past or are your periods typically always pretty regular?
If you had sex before your most fertile days, that can help reduce the risk of pregnancy. Yes, it is very possible that the nausea you are experiencing is coming from stress or sickness from the week before. It could also be coming from concern that you are pregnant. Late periods can be caused by a variety of things such as:
If your period has still not come in the next few days and you are concerned about pregnancy, I would take a pregnancy test to get your most accurate answer.
Also, do you take any form of birth control or do you engage in unprotected sex? Anytime you have unprotected sex it increases the risk of pregnancy.
I hope this helped! Please keep me updated and let me know if you have any other questions.
