Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community with your concern about your menstrual cycle.

Though you are only 42 years old, I am wondering if the recent delays in the start of your period might be an early sign of perimenopause.

The menstrual cycle is regulated by a precise balance of hormones. Any upset or imbalance, as with fluctuations in hormone levels associated with perimenopause, can cause changes.

Consider scheduling an appointment with your gynecologist.

Regards,
Maryann
