I'm 21. I have always noticed my periods have been irregular. I'd go three months without anything happening now I'm noticing that it takes longer. I have gone five months now and still haven't gotten one. When I was on birth control my cycle was normal but now until I stopped taking the pills so I know my body is capable of going through the cycle every month but it doesn't without the pill. What could be wrong? Does this mean I won't be able to have kids in the future?

When your gynecologist first prescribed the birth control pills, did he or she tell you the possible cause of your irregular menstrual cycle?
Please consider scheduling an appointment to speak with your gynecologist. With a diagnosis or cause, and proper treatment, your menstrual cycles can become regular. Your physician is your best resource to tell you whether your issue affects your fertility.
