Hi, Anon.

Thank you for your post today.

Upper back pain can occur as a result of trauma or sudden injury, or it can occur through strain or poor posture over time. Upper back pain, along with neck and shoulder pain, is often caused by poor posture. Coughing with back discomfort can be related to a chest infection or pneumonia. No one can diagnose this over the internet, of course. You need to see a doctor for an evaluation.
