Hello,

I have been on birth control for years and never had an issue. I always take my pill at the same time everyday, sometime give or take like 15 mins and I never miss a pill.

My period usually starts on the night of my 3rd plecabo pill or the morning of my 4th and its usually pretty heavy.

This month, its the night of my 4th plecebo pill and my period is light and it really only shows up when I wear a tampon. At times its light pink and at times its red. I'm having cramps just like i usually do but I'm just trying to figure out why my period is so much lighter this month all of a sudden? Please help!!!

Hi Godschick88,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Not all menstrual cycles will be the same every month.  Sometimes stress, medications and many other things can cause these changes.  If you feel concerned about these changes, it might be best to let your doctor know.  Maybe he can prescribed a different type of pill for you.

Hope this was helpful?

Best,

Daisy,

I actually looked at my birth control pack of pills this month and the pharmacy had given me the generic brand of my meds and I didnt realize it. Come to find out just hat little change made my cycle start a day later than usual. As of this morning, all is well and my cycle is back to what it should be.

Thanks so much for the help. I am loking forward to using this service again in the future!
