March 19, 2009 - 4:34pm 454 reads 0 comments

Listen as Irene shares the events that took place leading up to her cancer diagnosis.

Irene:
I received a letter in the mail from the testing facility about five days later, telling me about that I needed to have further evaluation. They did not call me, so I called my doctor and said, “My mammogram needs further evaluation.” Well, I was just about frightened to death at that point, and my doctor just said, “I’ll refer you.” He did not see me, he said, “I’ll refer you” and he did. So I went to see a doctor that I had never seen before and she arranged for a biopsy and did the biopsy and put a call in to me three days later and said, “Your biopsy was malignant.”
