Irene:
I lived in Illinois for 25 years before I moved to D.C. and then to Alabama. I have a minister who lives here. When my sister was diagnosed, I called my minister and said, “My sister has been diagnosed with cancer; I need you to pray for her,” and he said, “Oh okay, we will do that”. He said, “Has she considered the Cancer Treatment Center of America?” I had never heard of it, and when I hung up the phone after he and I talked, an ad came across the TV - Cancer Treatment Centers of America. I picked up the phone and I called, got the information from them and called my sister and talked to her about it to see if she wanted to come. She is a nurse and she decided no. She pretty much knew the medical community in the St. Louis area and she was going to stay there.
So I didn’t bother to call back, but the person I talked to at the treatment center called me back a couple of days later and said, “What did your sister decide to do?” And I said, “She is not going to come.” And she said, “Well, let me send you some information just so that you will have that and understand what she is going through.” I said, okay; she did. I got the information, looked at it and informed myself, and this was before I got my letter. And so when I got my letter I thought, “This is where I am supposed to be.” So I came here.
