Peggy:
When I first met Dr. Mansfield he was very open with answering every question, explained in detail what he felt was wrong, and how it needed to be treated. He did very many tests looking in my throat and in my nose so that he could give me answers as to why I could not breathe and why the CPAP wasn’t working.

After the tests were completed, he explained to me why he felt that was very necessary not only to operate on my nose, but on my throat. Since my tonsils and my palate and my tongue were all coming together and obstructing my airway totally, they grade the airway--which I did not know--in one, two, three, and four, and I had a four-way obstruction which he said definitely was not a choice. It had to be opened or I was in great danger, and I made the decision that I wanted to move forward and have this corrected as soon as possible so that I could continue breathing better and have my airway improved.

I found him to be a remarkable man who has ethics. I feel like I trust him with a secret. My husband had not met him before because my husband hates hospitals; he hates to go to doctors, but when I did have him memory in the surgical intensive care unit, he said to me, “The doctor talked to me; right on. You picked the right man.” My husband is a really good man, and when he puts a thumb-up I know that he read the man right.

I have recommended him to several people who have now gone to see him about their problems with breathing and are going to have surgery. He is a good man, and I respect him. I would work for him if he had an opening. But he has got a very good staff and doesn’t need me.
