VIDEO: Dr. Citrin - Oncotyping, What Is This?

March 19, 2009 - 9:26pm 518 reads 0 comments

Listen as Dr. Citrin shares what oncotyping is.

Dr. Citrin:
Oncotyping is a technique that allows us to measure the genetic structure of the cancer itself. One can have two cancers that appear identical, both in terms of stage and even in terms of grade of the cancer, how it looks under the microscope, but using oncotype or a similar genetic test we can actually identify which cancers are more biologically aggressive and therefore need more aggressive treatment.
