Dr. Hudson:
We are pretty certain that estrogen has a stimulating effect on endometriosis. We’re not saying it’s the cause necessarily, but we know it has an influence. We think there are multiple potential causes of endometriosis and in any one woman, she might add the whole 6 or 7 theoretical causes, what might be applied for her might be 1 or 2 or 3 of those 6, not necessarily all those 6, but we know that in all of those 6 or 7 theoretical causes that estrogen has an influence in stimulating the growth.
But no matter what, we think not only is estrogen having a stimulating effect but there is this background of immune imbalance or disruption that has also occurred.
