VIDEO: Dr. Raczkowski - What Makes The Robotic Cardiac Surgery Program At Banner Heart Hospital Special?

September 23, 2009 - 6:07pm 226 reads 0 comments

Dr. Raczkowski explains why he believes the robotic cardiac surgery program at Banner Heart Hospital is unique.

Dr. Raczkowski:
What makes Banner Heart Hospital’s robotic cardiac program unique? There are several factors. Banner Heart Hospital is one of the largest heart hospitals in the nation. It is dedicated primarily to the treatment of cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular disease only. Therefore, the nurses and all the staff are highly experienced and give quality care, which has been shown by our rating, our Thomson 100 rating for the last three years, which has not been met by any other hospital in Arizona.

That’s a major part of it. We also are the only robotic program in the Southwest. We are one of the busiest programs in the nation, and because of this experience, because of our team approach, we provide those patients a unique experience in allowing minimally invasive cutting-edge technology to be used by the most experienced people and in a high-quality institution. I think those factors contribute to the very unique experience at Banner Heart Hospital.

About Dr. Raczkowski, M.D.:
Dr. Allen Raczkowski, certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, leads the robotic heart surgery program at Banner Heart Hospital. He has performed nearly 400 procedures using that surgical system, making the Banner Heart Hospital robotic surgery program one of the top three in the nation.
