Dr. Williams:
Some of the risk factors for endometrial cancer include prolonged exposure to estrogen. Certainly women who have had hormone replacement therapy where they have received only estrogen and not received progestational agents along with it, are at increased risk. There are some treatments for breast cancer that can slightly increase the risk of developing endometrial cancer.

Other things include excessive weight. Women who are very heavy and have a lot of fatty tissue actually have more and higher circulating levels of estrogen than women who are thinner.
