Dr. Williams:
The vast majority of endometrial cancer is caused by excess estrogen or prolonged exposure to estrogen. There are certain conditions that predispose a woman to the development of endometrial cancer including things like polycystic ovaries, when women are not ovulating frequently, when they’re not having menstrual periods frequently, unless of course it’s the effect of medication.
