Dr. Williams:
Fallopian tube cancer would be treated with a combination of surgery and probable chemotherapy depending on the stage of disease. Once a woman is found to have a mass that appears to be involving the fallopian tube, she should be referred to a gynecologic oncologist who would then perform the appropriate staging procedure and if indeed there was a cancer present, depending on the stage of disease, the patient would then receive chemotherapy thereafter.
