Dr. Williams:
With regard to new and improved and innovative modalities of therapy for ovarian cancer, there are new techniques looking at recruiting the body’s own immune system in the treatment and maintenance and prevention of spread of disease. We have an exciting ovarian cancer vaccine trial that, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, that involves removing a woman’s own tumor tissue and from that tumor tissue, creating a unique vaccine for that woman that is then injected back into her that can then stimulate the immune system to react and attack the ovarian cancer cells.
