Dr. Williams:
Ovarian cancer is a cancer that can arise in the ovaries. There are three different kinds of ovarian cancer, one that is called the germ cell cancer, which arises from the actual eggs that are within the ovary. Another type is called stromal cancer, which arises from the sort of background tissue of the ovary, and the other is epithelial ovarian cancer which is the most common type, which arises more from the covering tissue of the ovary.
