For most of my life I have wanted to help those in our communites who are challenged for whatever reason and have had a tough time getting back on track. In Oct of 2008 I finally found that happy medium between runnin a business and being able to help deserving women and girls in our communities. I started Bosom Buddy Bra Recycling.

Bosom Buddy Bra Recycling was created as an opportunity to Go Green while contributing to women in need. The concept is simple, "Used Bras = Using Simple Encouragements to Develop, Blossom and Renew positive Attitudes and Self-Esteem." On the surface, foundation garments are not necessarily thought of as an esteem-booster. But ask any woman, and they will tell you that a well-fitted bra gives you the confidence to go anywhere and do anything you want to do. Not to mention the health benefits of a properly fitted undergarment.

To date, we’ve collected over 1,500 of the lingerie staples. Besides our drop off location we have received bras in the mail from all over the country including Canada and Hawaii. The bonus is that we donate a portion of the collected bras to local women's shelters and transitional housing and the other portion is sent abroad to deserving women. With the cost of quality undergarments out of reach for some women, it is a welcome contribution.

We hope to spread the word around the country that women have an alternative to holding on to bras that no longer fit. In 2009 we are also encouraging the donation of used post surgery mastectomy bras. So please tell your friends, family and business associates about Bosom Buddy Bra Recycling.
