I got braces two years ago at age 52 and I'm so glad I did. Although I had had braces as a teen (for five long years), the theory at the time was that once your wisdom teeth were removed, you no longer had to wear a retainer. That theory has definitely changed, as research shows your teeth can and will move at any age. Now I wear my retainer every night; it's no bother at all and the results are great. Also, my three teens had braces, and my mother went back for braces again at age 68 - more than ten years ago!
