Be Inspired By Something You Do

The more I think about lobbying on Capitol Hill earlier this week with over 200 of my colleagues the more inspired and committed I become to my work as a naturopathic physician.

It was an exciting experience because of the positive response we received from the legislators and their staff. I loved being around so many other members of my profession to catch up on latest discoveries and come together to show how our medical training can and should be used to help people understand their health conditions. It was a wonderful to learn about how teaching people about their can change the health of this country in so many states and so many different populations. I became re-inspired by what I do.

I want you to take a moment to think about what class, workshop, educational experience, colleague or friend inspires you to move to your next level of greatness in your life? Who or what can re-inspire about your life, your work, your health? Inspiration can take you through difficult and frustrating times in your career or health. Spend a few minutes thinking about how you can use an inspiring experience to help lift you out of a depressing or anxiety producing situations. How can an inspiring situation get you through your hospital stay for a heart or auto-immune condition or chemotherapy treatment? In times when you feel stuck and unmotivated something as simple as a walk in the park may lift you to a better state of mind. Sometimes it is more drastic interventions like a class or weekend workshop, look at Omega Institute or the Chopra Center, for example. Be willing to step out of your box to help you get inspired about your life and health. It is always worth it.
