WELL MY BOYFRIEND&&I HAD SEX ONCE IN JUNE 2009 AND 6 TIMES IN THE MONTH OF JULY 2009 EACH TIME HE CAME INSIDE OF ME. THE FIRST DAY OF MY LAST PERIOD WAS JUNE 21 WHICH MEANS THAT MY NEXT PERIOD SHOULD HAVE STARTED JULY 23[28 DAYS LATER] HOWEVER IT IS NOW AUG 1ST AND I HAVE NO SIGNS OF IT AT ALL. I USUALLY GET DULL CRAMPS 2 DAYS BEFORE IT STARTS, BREAST TENDERNESS AND THE LIKE BUT NO SIGNS AT ALL. I TOOK ONE PREGNANCY TEST ON JULY 23 IT WAS NEGATIVE AND I TOOK ANOTHER ON THE 31 ST STILL NEGATIVE. HOWEVER ABOUT A YEAR AGO MY PERIOD DISAPPEARED FOR 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT BECAUSE MY HORMONES WERE IN BALANCED IN MY LEFT OVARY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT SO THE DOCTORS PUT ME ON BIRTH CONTROL I TOOK IT FOR 3 MONTHS AND THEN STOP BUT THAT WAS A YEAR AGO. COULD IT BE POSSIBLE THAT I AM PREGNANT BUT MAYBE MY HORMONES ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO BE DETECTED?

Hi Law! I would say that your question is quite self-explanatory however, I know this is quite a sensitive subject matter especially with your current situation and I understand we all need all the affirmation and help we can get. I would head to Alson B's advice and I concur that what you and your fiance' have been doing is indeed one of the best ways to get pregnant although nothing is certain - there are even a lot of people doing what you have been doing every single day just to get pregnant but has somehow failed so it's not a one-shot-one-kill kind of thing for sure. Let me also add that even if you are on an oral contraceptive, there are even chances of still getting pregnant. Furthermore, if you are doing unprotected sex and your partner did not finish inside of you, there is still a chance of getting pregnant thanks to what we commonly call as "pre-c*m". So, to be on the safest side of things, you might as well get a hold of any kind of natural or organic contraceptive or do what I have been doing for more than half a decade now, use a fertility monitor. Either way, I wish you the best of luck and I hope you and your fiance' the best.

Hi law,
There is a very good chance you could be pregnant---having unprotected sex multiple times is, in fact, the best way to get pregnant! A missed period is a very good sign of pregnancy, but two negative pregnancy tests tell us something different.

You need to call your doctor, and tell them your period is 11 days late, but have had two negative pregnancy tests. They may tell you to wait a few more days, or since you've had a history of hormonal imbalances, they may want to see you. Did you let your doctor know that you stopped taking your prescription (for birth control pills)? This is important to keep your doctor "in the know", as they may recommend something else for you; remember if you are ever given a prescription to follow-up with your doctor before abruptly stopping any medication!

Pregnancy tests are very reliable at detecting pregnancy, especially once you've missed your period. You may need to go into the doctors office and do one more pregnancy test just to be sure. Otherwise, your missed period could be related to your previous hormonal imbalance, or it could be stress-related or just an irregular cycle.

If you choose to have intercourse again, please be sure to use hormonal contraception and a condom, so you do not go through this worry and stress anymore.
