Me and my fiancé were enjoying our intimate moment one evening. There was no vaginal intercourse. He just fingered my vagina and had cm on my belly.Healso rubbed his penis against my organ but there was no penetration. We were worried about the pre-ejaculatory fluid, if by any chance during fingering , some fluid entered in. To be on the safe side, I took idoz 72 between first and second hour of this. All this happened on 19th March 8 pm which was 9 days following my previous cycle.I had my previous period on 11th March. My usual cycle starts on every 28th day. I had slight bleeding for an hour on April 11th which just looked like my regular flow in colour and consistency.but I didn't had my regular three day flow till now. What does this mean? Am I safe? Please help me out.

hello maryann,
there was no penetration i am 100% sure about it. but i am not sure about the preejacu fluid on his fingers during fingering. please note i didnt had any withdrawal bleeding which is usually expected after plan b. i had bleeding on 24th day after the pill which lasted only for an hr. very minimal bleeding but normal in color and consistency. but since the time i took the pill there is clear discharge form my vagina.but no itching or bad odour.i am having papaya and pineapple to fasten my periods naturally.i am still awaiting my periods.
please note i also took a home pregnancy test using velocit kit one week after that "one-hour" bleeding which is almost a month after the intimate act.all the instructions were followed perfectly and the test showed negative.
please help, is there something to worry?i am still awaiting my period. its been eleven days that i had slight 1hr bleeding.

Hello ma180508,

It is apparent that something is wrong with your menstrual cycle and it is causing you much concern.

Please contact either your gynecologist or primary care physician.
If pregnancy is not the reason you have not gotten your period, then there must be a hormonal imbalance. Only a doctor can determine that and blood tests to check hormone levels might be necessary.

Maryann

Hello Maryann, i repeated my HPT after 14days of my first test with all the instructions clearly followed. Its a negative again. Is it ok if i wait for my periods to occur naturally or do i have to visit a Doctor. its only 19days that i had slight 1hr bleeding last time. if that can be considered as a period, i thought it would be better to wait for a week more as per my normal cycle. please suggest if i have ti visit a Doc immediately.or is it ok if i wait for a week more

Hello ma180508,

The one hour of bleeding cannot be considered a period. The choice to wait is yours to make. It all depends on how concerned you are.

Maryann

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER.

Idoz 72 is effective in preventing pregnancy if taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. All emergency contraceptives work by preventing ovulation and causing changes to the cervical mucus to make it more difficult for sperm to reach and fertilize a released egg.

Addressing your situation, you were mostly likely not ovulating nine days after finishing your last period. Without ejaculation during penetration of his penis in your vagina, there was no risk for pregnancy.

It is questionable if pre-ejaculate contains sperm. If the male has recently ejaculated, some sperm may remain in his urethra. Unless your fiancee had semen on his fingers, sperm could not have entered your vagina. As a note, your vagina is inside of your body.

The bleeding which lasted one hour was most likely the result of taking Idoz 72.

Anonymous, are you having your period now?

If so, then you are not pregnant.

Changes to the menstrual cycle is a reported side effect of all emergency contraceptive. That is why your period started later than expected.

I hope that I have answered satisfactorily.

Regards,
Maryann
