Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us for information regarding treatment for night blindness.

Night blindness is poor vision at night or in dim light.

The causes of night blindness fall into two categories: treatable and nontreatable.

If night blindness is caused by cataracts, near nearsightedness, a side effect of certain medications, and vitamin A deficiency, then it is treatable.

Night blindness that results from a birth defect or retinitis pigmentosa, which is an eye disease in which there is damage to the retina, is not treatable.
