Breast Tenderness halfway between periods..

As of late, I am about halfway through until my next period. (2 weeks after my last and 2 weeks roughly before my next.) I have no other symptoms as of late and all my periods have been normal and the only sexual contact I've had the past month or so has been grinding nude with no penetration or ejaculation in the vaginal area and even to rule anything out I took a pregnancy test a few days ago which came up negative.

So why would I have such tenderness in my breasts? It made me worry and I don't have any lumps or anything. Help?

A little tidbit, I don't always wear bras. If I do it's sports bras. I don't know if this is helpful or not.

Hi Lilrebelart,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

The most common cause of breast pain/ tenderness is change in hormones associated with your PMS and menstrual cycle. This is a normal body response to shifts in estrogen levels.

I'm glad to hear you've done self examinations and haven't found any lumps. You mentioned not wearing a bra. Your breast needing the support during daily activity could be attributing to the discomfort. When you do wear a bra, making sure it is fitted properly is a good practice as well.

There are even studies that indicate, having too much caffiene can cause pain in breast. So you might want to decrease your intake to see if that helps as well.

I hope this helps.
