Can miscarriages be induced safely? Are there certain types of food/ contraceptives we can consume in order to induce miscarriage? Are there any other options apart from abortion?

Hi Anonymous,
This question concerns me. May I ask how old you are? Is there anyone you can talk to about your pregnancy? Is there a reason why you wouldn't consider a legal abortion for safety measures?
Please answer the following questions so we may further assist you.
Thank you,

I am twenty... I don't think I am pregnant, but just in case I would still like to know. Hm... I don't want to consider abortion because of the cost and the pain... so are there any other methods to induce miscarriage?

Hi,
An induced miscarriage is an abortion...it is just a nicer term. Women can have spontaneous abortions (miscarriage); again, just a more gentle term.
There are no foods you can eat, but there are medicines you can take, or other procedures that you can talk with your doctor about. It is important if you are pregnant to seek medical attention, as women can have partial miscarriages that can cause infection if not treated.
When was your last menstrual period?

What are the medication that can induce miscarriage? My last period was last month, but I am three days late for this month... I don't think that there is a cause for panic, but all the same, better safe than sorry... does eating contraceptives while being pregnant cause miscarriage?

The medications I was referring to are prescribed by a doctor, once a pregnancy is confirmed, and they induce an abortion if you do not wish to go through the pregnancy.
Oral contraceptives do not cause spontaneous abortions ("induced miscarriage").
Please take a home pregnancy test to find out if you are pregnant, and please let us know what the results are either way so we can provide resources and information.
