Q:

Could I be getting the flu? Or something else...?

In the past week or so I've had symptoms such as: minor and brief headaches (yet come and go throughout the day), fatigue and some insomnia, upper and lower backaches &neckaches, a heightened sense of smell (I can smell EVERYTHING, which is really strange for me), increased moodiness and irritability, my appetite is somewhat different (ex: I used to love eating taquitos a few times a week and now I have absolutely no craving for them), minor cramps including a little abdominal discomfort, and quite a bit of queasiness/nausea (I don't feel like I'm going to vomit, but throughout the day I feel as though I've been on a rocking boat) which is the most odd to me since I NEVER get queasy, and I haven't thrown up or had the flu since I was about 8 (I'm almost 19 now). I'm on the pill but in the past few weeks I have been late on one pill (about 8 hours) and about a week later I missed another and had to double up the next day. I have had intercourse pretty much every weekend for the past month or so.. maybe I could be showing signs of pregnancy? Or could I be coming down with the flu or something?

I'm supposed to get my period on the 14th, so I can understand some of these symptoms relating to my menstruation, but this doesn't feel at all like my normal PMS!
what do you think?
thank you, I appreciate it!

Guide

Hello devilcupcakes,

Your symptoms are varied and do not match those of the seasonal influenza, or even the common cold. As you mentioned, some of the symptoms can be premenstrual. But, feeling as if you are on a rocking boat may signal a problem with your inner ear.

If these symptoms persist, I suggest you schedule an appointment with your primary care physician.

Please keep us updated.
