Could I be pregnant?

I'm 18 and have had a normal period since I was 13. I became sexually active about 6 months ago and we've always used protection. The only time we haven't was about a month and a half ago. I had a period last month that was a lot different than usual. No blood on any pads except once and it was just a little bit. Only blood when wiping and It didn't seem to last even 4 days. This month is been the same. Only blood when wiping. Very light cramps for about 4 days before I even saw any blood. I've also had pretty bad cramps since I started noticing blood this morning. I'm not sure if this could be that I'm pregnant or just under stress.

Guide

Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

Anytime you engage in unprotected sex, your risk for pregnancy increases, and during early stages of pregnancy, some women get cramps with a little bleeding.

I'm sure this is causing some stress, so the best thing to do is to take a home pregnancy test to rule it out or in.

In the future, if you have a situation similar you could take emergency contraceptive (Plan B) within 24 hours of the event to prevent pregnancy.

I hope this helps.

Be well,
~Gillette
