i’m 17 and my whole live i’ve always had issues going to the bathroom. i’m almost always constipated. like maybe a year or 2 ago i started noticing red blood streaks in my poop and i figured it was from never being able to go. like i literally can go months without going because nothing ever works. i’ve always got gas and i’m usually getting stomach pains at the lower half of my body but about a month and a half ago i finally went after a while and i looked into the toilet and the water was red from blood. i didn’t really go after that and when i finally did a few days ago i had realized there were a few drops of blood in the toilet and then it happend a few days later. i googled it and the thing that worried me that popped up was colon cancer so now i’m freaking out. my aunt thinks it’s diverticulitis because she said she had it before and the blood in the toilet and stomach pains and everything happened to her and that’s what it was. but i’m just freaking out and i’m scared to go to the doctor. can someone please help me? thank you

Hello Anon
Thank you for writing!
I wouldn't consider colon cancer before other digestive issues like chronic constipation, IBS or diverticulitis. If you don't have a bowel movement for weeks it's likely you would be hospitalized or near death so it's likely you are having some bowel movements occasionally.
