Guide

Hello Chantelle,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for sharing your experience and fears with us. We are here to help in any way possible.
I will do my best to calm your fears.

A 3 cm ovarian cyst is common among women in their reproductive years. Did your doctor tell you that it was a benign cyst? Did she tell you it was a complex or simple ovarian cyst? Did she recommend surgery?

It is important for you to get these questions answered. Give her a call. Ovarian cancer is almost always associated with complex ovarian cysts. Simple cysts are usually benign.

An ovarian cyst can cause a dull ache that starts in your pelvic area and may radiate to your lower back and thighs. It can cause irregular menstrual bleeding, which you are experiencing.

Chantelle, talk with your doctor, share your fears and the symptoms you are having. Ask if she has any treatment recommendations.

Regards,
Maryann
