Q:

Dianosed with micro invasive DCIS ER+ PR+ HER2+++. After surgery and radiation I am on Arimidex. Do I need to avoid natural estrogen plant foods such as soy, apple, cherries and others since the medication is trying to block estrogen in my body?

I am at a loss when I find out foods that have plant estrogen. What do I eat to be on good diet?

Hi,
Thank you for your question, and it is difficult to determine the best foods to eat...even the "healthy" plant foods can be confusing.

I have submitted your question to one of our experts, to help answer your very interesting question.

In the meantime, is this a question you can ask your own doctor, as it is very valid and worth a call to inquire about your specific situation and medication. Soy is a controversial food, and I assume your doctor's nurses have received similar questions related to consuming soy and other similar foods while using certain medications.

We will post any research results or answers from our experts, and I would love to hear back from you if you are able to ask your doctor this important question, as it related to you in your specific situation.
