So basically my period is due tomorrow (7/11/15) however 3 days ago I took 3 pregnancy tests and all were positive! Its didnt feel real so yesterday I took a test and again was positive, I took clear blue and it says 2-3 weeks! I am very happy, however have certain worries as this is the first time of being pregnant.. I have been unable to do a number 2 on the toilet all week which is very unusual and this morning however I was actually able to do a normal one today with not too much straining is this normal? Also getting cramps as if Im going to get my period, like they feel the same as if I would come on.. Is this normal too? Thank you for any advice ☺️ I hope everything is okah because I am very excited to become a mummy ☺️

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I hope it's true and wish you a healthy pregnancy.

Constipation is not a typical early sign of pregnancy. A missed period is, as well as a positive pregnancy test.

Consider scheduling an appointment with your gynecologist who can confirm the pregnancy with a blood hCG test, and start prenatal care.

Not having a bowel movement for one week is unusual and should be addressed. Either increase the amount of water you drink daily, add more fiber to your diet and talk with your doctor about using a stool softener. Better to get this under control before it can be an issue in the later months of pregnancy.

Please keep us updated.
