I've heard of women having this done and I'm curious what people know about it, if it's safe and really works, etc.

WHY would you do this!? Unless you are a porn star?
It is SOOOO depressing to me that women are so influenced by the porn industry nowadays. This is where the custom started.
Isn't a pretty face more important!? Isn't it enough to worry about our hair, our bodies and more importantly our brains....are our anuses the next big fashion area....?? Where will it END!? Pun intended!

I actually read about it in a Marie Claire magazine, and the author said that anal bleaching has been more common among Hollywood celebs and in the porn industry, as you mentioned, but apparently is becoming more mainstream and that even housewives are doing it. I'm just wondering first of all why in the world women would want to do this and if it's a safe thing to do.

Hi,
I had never heard of this, and just read about it. Are you referring to purchasing a bleaching cream to lighten the skin color around the anus?

If so, can you tell me what product(s) you would use? One (if not all) contain 20% hydroquinone, which is a "suspected carcinogen banned by several countries" and has many risks associated with its use.

This type of "beauty treatment" is used in the pornography industry. May I ask why you are interested in this (is it for you, or your partner)?
