how do I know when pityriasis rosea is healing?

I was diagnosed with pityriasis rosea almost 6 weeks ago. Apparently it takes 6-8 weeks to disappear, but I keep finding new spots every time I shower, new red spots seem to pop up. The first ones I got seem to keep changing. Does anyone know what these spots are meant to look like before they just disappear?

I tried the tanning bed, t-gel shampoo, oatmeal baths, cortisone cream, benadryl and steroid (which made it worse!). My physician then gave my 10 days of zithromycin in an off label use. I improved but had to take a second 10 days of it to completely get rid of it. Finally I had relief after none of the other treatments helped.

My 8 year was diagnosed with this horrible rash 6weeks ago on her face. She has multiple harold patches on one Side of her face and pimple like bumps every where else on her face. I cried everyday that she looked like that....doc said give it up to 12weeks and it will be gone for good. Lately her face is clearing up and the patches are less noticeable.

Hey guys,

I was diagnosed with PR about a week ago. First thing I did was look up PR and I found this site. I immediately bought Head and Shoulders, vitamins, Aveeno lotion, and a TANNING PACKAGE! I am African American and did not like the idea of tanning but I knew it was necessary to see fast results. The first two days after my diagnosis I tanned on my patio in the sun for about 30 mins. I could feel the sun burning the bumps and the ones that felt burnt flattened out after about 2 days. Since I could not completely tan my whole body I went to the tanning salon. I had 4 sessions with 10 mins each because of my dark complexion. The tanning did wonders for my PR! It has been a week and all of my bumps are flat and peeling. I found a new area on my foot the other day went tanning and used head and shoulders and it all went away the same day. It took me 1 week to rid my body of those dreadful bumps. My regime for the week included:
1. Shower with head and shoulders twice a day. Allow the head and shoulders to sit on your skin for 10 mins then rinse it off.
2. Take vitamins
3. Tan as much as you can. I spent 10 mins each session using UV-B rays not UV-A.
4. PRAY PRAY PRAY PRAY!!! I prayed every day! When I got discouraged I would pray to God for strength to get through this. Stay as strong as you can it will go away!

Help!! I was diagnosed with ringworm 4 weeks ago. It started as a large herald patch on the back of my thigh and topical terbinafine (Lamasil) wasn't working hence why I went to the doctors as it started to spread. Just over 3 weeks into my oral terbinafine and the smaller patches are spreading. I went back to the doctors and he seemed very confident I had PR and to stop using anything as it wont work... its been around 7 weeks now and i'm still finding new patches. Mine is no where near as widespread as the pictures I've googled, I have about 30 patches and all but one are confined to my legs and arms so its not typical PR. But i'm still highly stressed with it, I don't want my boyfriend looking at me. Does anyone else have anything similar?
