how long does it take for a medicine to start working ?

Its been about 5 days that I have been starting to take an antideppresant called amitriptyline hcl my doctor prescribed it for some type of migraine that i have called vestibular migraine I really dont suffer from headaches is more like dizzy out of balance and vertigo I actually havent felt any diffrent yet I still get dizzy spells and sort of spinning sensation its horrible because I cant really go out like i want to I had to quit my job that I relly liked and rally helped economically I just keep praying to God that this medicine will do what is supposed to do I just dont understand why depression medicine for what is called migraine I really want to get cured from this and enjoy life with my kids and husband

For the specific drug amitriptyline, it may take several weeks to take effect per the description from their website. Don't give up, just keep taking the medication as most drugs need a little time to take effect.
