Q:

I have bladder inflammation, diagnosed a few months ago. I am also experiencing low back pain that radiates down into my outer thighs, bilaterally. Could my back pain have something to do with my baldder problem?

55 years old, female, not overweight. Chronic UTI's for years but recently diagnosed with bladder inflammation. About the same time this was diagnosed I was having low back pain radiating into my outer thighs. Constant pain, taking ibuprofen daily, does not alleviate the pain but helps a little. Taking Prosed for my bladder condition, also, does not alleviate entirely but takes the edge off. I am not sure which condition is worse......maybe they are related in some way?

They could be related, as any bladder inflammation and chronic UTIs could also signify infection or inflammation in other parts of your digestive system, including your kidneys. Your kidneys are located in your lower back, and could be causing pain if they are infected or inflamed.

Are you able to call your doctor?
