Q:

I have stomach flu and want to preserve my electrolytes. Can I drink orange juice or will it upset my stomach.

I have not been vomiting for 36 hours, but still have diarrhea. I'm drinking water but not eating much.

Guide

Hello. Thank you for posting.

The body also loses a lot of fluids through diarrhea, vomiting, and sweating. It is important to keep up fluid levels in the body to help avoid dehydration. If you have stomach flu, drink plenty of liquids (once able) such as clear soda (ginger ale), clear broths or caffeine-free sports drinks. Slow sips help to keep fluids down. Juices are fine in small amounts but I'd start with the above first.
